Aviation development

Tennant Creek Airport is available for use 24 hours a day.

The main runway (07/25) is 1959 metres long by 30 metres wide and can normally accommodate most commuter aircraft. Larger aircraft can also use the runway in an emergency but may have difficulty parking.  The second runway (11/29) is 1057 metres long by 18 metres wide. Runway 07/25 is equipped with Low-Intensity Runway Lighting and AT-VASIS in both directions. Low-Intensity Runway Lighting is also available on Runway 11/29. All lighting is pilot-operated on PAL + AFRU 126.7.

The terminal apron can normally accommodate up to three aircraft below 5700 kg in weight.

Avgas is available from a fixed browser (Shell 08 8962 2696).

There is a small terminal for Regular Public Transport (RPT) passengers.

Conditions of Use

Airport Development Group has revised the Conditions of Use for Darwin International Airport, Alice Springs Airport, and Tennant Creek Airport.

These updates will take effect starting 1 July 2024 and encompass changes to the Terms and Conditions, the provision of Standard Aviation Services, as well as adjustments to Aviation Charges.
